Carding is the process of combing and aligning the fibres. This makes the fibres easy to spin.

When the cotton fibres have turned into a soft and airy mass, they are spun into long rolls. The cotton is now ready for the spinning wheel.

Now comes the exciting part: spinning the cotton fibres into yarn. The spinning wheel is used to spin the loose fibres into yarn. Patience and experience in particular ensure even threads. The result should be soft and firm, perfect for weaving a scarf.

The yarn is now ready for the loom. We now first dye the threads of our coloured scarves in (multiple) dye baths. As chemical dyes are harmful to the environment and health, we use natural alternatives. We use plants, flowers, wood, bark, earth, etc …. to colour the long threads.
