detail katoenen tafelloperThis cotton table runner with mountain road pattern combines light blue with brown and white.
The blue yarn was dyed with the dye that comes from the indigo plant.
The brown and white cotton is undyed.
You can see that the cotton was spun by hand by the uneven thickness of the yarn.
Look at the detail and you can see how the uneven threads intertwine nicely.
The fine and medium yarn was woven quite loosely to create an airy table runner.
Like our scarves, the table runner was made in Thailand.
The weaver receives a fair price for her work.
The runner is 195 cm long and 38 cm wide.

The cotton was woven on a wooden loom.
The weaver who made the table runner for you can earn extra income thanks to the sale of her fabrics when there is no yield from the land.
You pay her a fair price for her work with this purchase.

No pollution of nature

No chemicals pollute the rivers near our weavers.
That’s because the brown and white yarns of this table runner are not dyed.
The blue threads are dyed with dye that comes from the indigo plant.
That nature does not have to suffer in the making of this beautiful fabric fits right in with the times.

Before weaving, the yarn was immersed in rice water.
That way, the threads could be woven without breaking.
This makes the fabric feel slightly harder at first, but it only gets softer after each wash.
With time, you will start to appreciate this handcrafted accessory more and more.
Know that this is the result of days of weaving with care for detail and beauty.
