These cocoons are boiled after which the fine threads can be unwound.
The yarn was spun by hand

Flowers, plants, seeds, bark and even earth dye our fabrics.
Often these raw materials grow near the weaver’s village and she learned from her (grand)mother how to extract the colour from them.
Before weaving, she dipped the yarn several times in this sustainable dye.
This way, the traditional craft of dyeing and weaving is preserved.
